Our most notorious classmate. Mitchell jumped off the 14th floor balcony of his brother's apartment onto Doheny after the sheriff named him the prime suspect in the bludgeoning murder of his wife and 7 month old daughter. We'll never know. He took his secrets with him. The police closed the case.

Mitch was my neighbor across the street while growing up on Elm Dr. He was sweet, kind, and warm and gracious. His dad had a hugely successful business, one which I can't recall the nature of anymore, and he had an older brother who was in line to take it over. Whatever became of Mitch later on in life, he came from being a child always wanting to gain the love and affection of his family and to keep up, likely, with the rigorous demands of same. Believe me, whatever he may have become or done, something took him down that path. His fate did not match the temperment he had as a child and teen.

Mitch and I were close friends in high school. We will never know what happened after that but I still miss him. I will always remember his hugh smile and the many pool games we had with Bobby at their home.

Mitch my  buddy, I now get the chance to say I really  miss you and remember when we went steady (remember exchanging rings in 7th grade)   I was just alittle taller than you, but it did't matter.

I will always remember whata good kisser you were when we were in a  dark closet for 7 minutes!!!!

We both blushed when we came out. May God watch over you.

Your friend Wendy

micth lived a block down from me... part of the 'elm drive' gang... he was always so sweet and kind back then.  i have a home movie from one of my dance parties with him hamming it up!  (probably headed to the closet with wendy...haha).  his ending is a complete surprise to me... just read some of the past memorials.  wow... you just never know!

I barely knew Mitch; we didn't run in the same crowd. (More specifically, he ran in his crowd and I ran in no crowd.) But I can share one memory: I remember seeing him roar up Hillcrest at high speed one day. Whereas other folks were driving Chevy Camaro SS 396s and Dodge Chargers, Mitch's choice of muscle car was a cobalt blue Plymouth GTX. It was the only Plymouth GTX I ever saw.
