Children: | We had Matt and his new bride who got married just this past June 2015. Matt and Jodi live in the East More…Village/NYC, the wedding was held in Philadelphia,PA and was not only beautiful and surreal, but all the stops were pulled in this 3 day affair. His older brother and his wife have the apple of my eye(Harper who is 1 1/2yrs old and my first grandchild and they reside in LA. Will attempt to post recent pictures. Wendy 3/18/18 I really like having our class website, so thank you Alan. Many of you have kept us updated throughout the years, so don't stop. For me, having grandchildren has by far been very gratifying and gives me such joy. Talia was born in 2017 & will be 6 mos old soon. Her Mom and Dad live in Brooklyn. Then of course Harper is turning 4 in May and is growing up way too fast, parents live in Mansfield, Tx. My kids (boys) married wonderful women, couldn't ask for more. Throughout 2016 I was heavily involved in grassroots politics with various groups in order to elect Hilary. With things the way they are now, I stay connected with other progressives in the community and have met some great people. We soon will see the light at the end of the tunnel and just hope we will succeed. |

Hawthorne
I have only wonderful memories and they are all about the laughs and sadness too. My Hawthorne group to was pretty tight both the girls and boys.
It was not unusual to hang out at a friends house after school, have a nosh of course, listen to records and lay either on the floor or bed and just giggle.
Telling jokes (Geoff S.) (Andy B.) & Marv always said something to crack me up, it was really the High lite of the day. I liked having everyone over to swim
but my mother had the worse snacks. It was either at Jan B., or Angie's that
people started kissing in the closets and Lon and Louie were the instigators.
Definetly the best time was at Halloween and usually someone got in trouble.
Our group was extremely close even thru 8th grade.
Since the time in 69 when I graduated I had a whole new group of friends from El Rodeo, Beverly Vista and we never stopped talking about boys. There were a lot of parties where I went to the closet and kissed Mitch or Andy and basically went to Tees Beach as much as possible. Many of us rode the RTD cuz no one was driving yet. After summer, I registered at Pierce Jr. College, joined the ski club, and had moved out to Encino. My best friends at that time were Jane and Karen, our hangout was the sunset strip.
It was wonderful seeing everybody at our 40th @Hillcrest Country Club,I was able to speak with many of our classmates/friends at bes t the event was one o toasted one
Wendy's Latest Interactions
It always hurts when a BHHS classmate passes, but when part of the Hawthorne family goes it's especially hard.
Wendy was a friendly, spirited and thoughtful person who always brought a smile to my face. She will be missed. My heart goes out to Randi and the rest of her family. Sending out love and good vibes to you all. Raise a glass to Wendy everyone. RIP sweet lady.
Beginning of Spring here in LA and it's great. My family is doing well, especially the grandchildren and I am looking forward to visiting my kids in Texas for Harper's B-Day, will be 4yrs. Taliia just over 6 mos now, they all live in Brooklyn.
I have been busy studying to be come a Life Coach, I started in 2015, and knew then that my work with people is a perfect fit.
Although I volunteered as a Hilary voter and we lost, have not been doing this work, as hard as I did in 2016. Yet, very active, along with other social progressives.
I am super serious about electing new democrats for R seats in congress, the time is now!
I absolutely love travelling, my favorite spots are Oregon, Mexico, and pretty much all of Northern CA. Were I to move, it would be a dream.
To all my friends from BHHS and Hawthorne, I hope we will get together in the near future.
Would be great to stay in touch and blab about the changes here in LA (good & bad)
All the best,
Wendy
Many years have gone by since Jan passed away, I finally found out the story just last year.
I lived right up the street on Beverly Drive and walked to and from her house. I remember sitting on the floor in her bedroom when she usually yelled at her brother to leave us alone. She was a good sport and popular with a group of us Jennifer, Sherry, Vickee and Vicki S.. Her Mom was wonderful, she always had some snacks
out on the counter. She was a very, very dear friend, and she always stood up for herself. I speak for all of
us when ever I think of our Halloweens on Rexford, Crescent, Maple, girls against the guys, lets say it wasn't pretty but a hell of alot fun. Good ol Jan!
Miss you Jan
Wendy
Mitch my buddy, I now get the chance to say I really miss you and remember when we went steady (remember exchanging rings in 7th grade) I was just alittle taller than you, but it did't matter.
I will always remember whata good kisser you were when we were in a dark closet for 7 minutes!!!!
We both blushed when we came out. May God watch over you.
Your friend Wendy
