Ronnie was officially my oldest friend -- from Peter Pan Nursery school (I'm pretty sure from PP #2 -- the one where the Staples is (and Tacaloma Camp was) on Little Santa Monica near Westwood, not #1 (where I started) which was on the West side of Beverly Glen just South of Little Santa Monica). He was a cool cat from the beginning (in 1956), and though we didn't stay close, I think from the photos of him in his shades, he was a cool cat till the end.
I went to Sunday school with Ron (one of the few others BH folk at Temple Isaiah on Pico). He was friends with Jonny Provost, the kid who played Timmy on Lassie and I remember spending a Saturday afternoon noon with them. I think Ron was something of a proto-typical juvenile delinquent (in the best sense), reputedly shoving a fire cracker into the exhaust pipe of a car with the predictable outcome. Otherwise, soft-spoken. Always nice to be around.
Ronny was one of my first friends in Beverly Hills he lived a few doors down from me on peck drive and Jon provost live a block up. Yes we were pretty good friends thru out the years! Yes! He did push things to the limit and past! But he did get himself into a great life! After working in shoe business for several years and getting involved in other things he made a killing in the cell phone business! He got involved early on a few different levels and understood the future! Too bad that his heart gave out in the prime of his life! Yes I do miss having him in my life.
He and my brother passed away within a month or so of each other may they Rest In Peace.
