Barry Bregman sadly reports that his very good friend Tony Martin died on April 10, 2010 as the result of a terrible car accident while driving to his home in Frazier Park. Here's a short obituary from Legacy.com:

I didn't spend much time with Tony but I remember a having a great time going to his house, meeting his parents and checking out his recording equipment. He simulated multi-track recording by using two tape recorders and bouncing back and forth between them. I was pretty impressed with the results he got, applied to music that he had written. Fondly remembered.
